There’s Something About Amy (Part 1)

There’s Something About Amy is an idea based on an old Mashed cartoon. The Secret History of Sonic & Tails featured a twisted, evil version of Tails who seeks out and kills Sonic’s friends in order to replace them as Sonic’s ‘best’ friend. Several years later, fans made a mod for rhythmn game Friday Night Funkin’ which featured this twisted version of Tails and he resurfaced into popularity.
I had pitched this idea before but it was decided the audience wasn’t there yet. But after the resurgence thanks to Friday Night Funkin’, we went ahead with it. I wrote the first pass, while Mashed Producer and Writer, Ben Michael wrote the second pass, punching up dialogue and coining the iconic phrase “What are friends for?”.
While the original concept stayed the same as the one I had outlined, the execution evolved and was pushed further, to make Amy’s descent into madness more believable.
The ending to part 3 that featured Secret History Tails’ surprise return was one of Mashed’s biggest releases ever, reaching 1 million views in just over 12 hours and remains one of Mashed’s most popular series.
SAMURAI WITCHER: Geralt vs. The Griffin

I’m a huge fan of both Samurai Jack and The Witcher, and after seeing a mock-up of Geralt of Rivia drawn in Genndy Tartakovsky’s style, I knew that I wanted to make it a reality. I wrote story beats for this cartoon, which our animator Liam took and turned into storyboards. I edited these together to roughly shape what I wanted and then we worked together refining and compositing assets that Liam animated.
This was the first cartoon that I produced from start to finish, and while I’m still incredibly proud of the result, I also learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t work, both in animation and story.
Far Cry: What If NPC’s were smart?

This is a cartoon written as a tribute to Mitchell and Webb, one of my favourite sketch shows when I was younger. Two NPC's brush against self-awareness, wondering why they standing next to big, red, flammable barrels of fuel, when there is a trigger-happy FPS player out there hunting them. Honestly, it writes itself.
